"Quantity Not Sufficient" (QNS) means the lab received your collection cards but didn't have enough blood on them to run your test reliably. This is one of the most common rejection reasons with at-home blood collection. We've already sent you a free replacement kit on your same order. Why "quantity not sufficient" happens
A QNS rejection means the circles on your collection cards weren't filled completely enough for the lab to process all your tests. Common causes include:
Blood flow slowed or stopped before all circles were filled
Circles were only partially filled rather than filled to the edge
The finger used for collection wasn't adequately warmed up before starting
How to collect a sufficient sample next time
Follow these steps when collecting with your replacement kit:
Warm your hands before you start. Run warm water over your hands for 1–2 minutes or do light hand exercises to encourage blood flow. Cold hands are the most common reason blood flow stops too soon.
Use the lancet on the side of your fingertip, not the very tip. The sides have more blood flow and are less sensitive.
Let blood pool before touching the card. Allow a full drop to form, then bring the card to the drop — don't smear or press the fingertip directly onto the card.
Fill each circle completely to the outer edge. The circle should be saturated, not just spotted in the center.
If blood flow slows, massage gently from the palm down toward the fingertip to encourage more blood. Do not squeeze forcefully at the collection site — this can affect sample quality.
Complete every circle on every card before setting the cards aside to dry.
After filling the last circle, let the cards dry flat for a full 60 minutes before placing them in the transport pouch.
