Why did I get partial results?

Why some markers finish before others and what happens when your full results are ready.

Partial results means some of the markers in your test are finished and ready to view, while others are still being processed at the lab. The results you've received are accurate and final for those markers — they are not preliminary or subject to change. Your remaining markers will be added to your results page once they're complete, and we'll send you a notification when your full results are ready.

Why partial results happen

Most tests include multiple markers, and those markers don't always finish processing at the same time. Rather than hold your completed markers until everything is done, we release them as soon as they're ready so you can start reviewing your results. This is the standard way multi-marker tests are processed.

What to expect after receiving partial results

Here's the sequence of what happens:

  1. We send you a partial results notification when some markers are available.

  2. You can view those completed markers in your member portal or the app right away.

  3. The lab continues processing the remaining markers.

  4. We send you a full results notification when all markers are complete.

  5. Your full report then shows all markers together in one place.

A special case: When the lab needs a new sample

In some situations, partial results happen not because markers are still processing, but because the lab could not complete certain tests from your original sample. This can happen if there wasn't enough sample volume to run every test. If this applies to your order, we'll send you a free replacement kit and explain what's needed in a separate message. Check your inbox for a message about a replacement kit — it will be a different message from your results notification.
