Your health data is protected with industry-standard safeguards. Use this article to understand how we protect your information, which standards we follow, and what we never do with your data.
HIPAA compliance
Your health information is handled in line with HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act), the U.S. federal law that governs how protected health information is used and disclosed. When you registered your kit, you agreed to the Consent and Authorization for Services and the Privacy Policy, which explain how your information is used to provide your testing and care.
Encryption and access controls
Your data is protected in two ways:
In transit — your data is encrypted as it moves between you, the app, and our systems
At rest — your data is encrypted while stored on our servers
Access to your information is limited to the people involved in delivering your testing and care, and access records are tracked and retained.
Important: We will never ask you to share full payment card details or passwords over chat or email. If anyone asks you to, do not respond — contact our support team immediately.
CLIA-certified laboratories
Your sample is analyzed by CLIA-certified (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments) partner laboratories located in the United States. CLIA certification means the laboratory meets federal quality and accuracy standards for testing human samples.
Who can access your information
The following people may access your health information as part of delivering your testing and care:
The licensed physician who authorizes and reviews your test
Your care team
The laboratory's clinical team involved in analyzing and reporting your sample
Our support team
We do not sell your personal health information.
